| Description of the problem | Dear sir or madam: recently the air conditioning my 1999 jeep wrangler sport stopped working and there was an immediate smell of smoke coming from within the dash board. Upon partially disassembling the dash board's center console and removing the air conditioning controls it was apparent that a small fire or overheated wiring connector had melted the fan speed control switch and the air output selector switch. I purchased a used air conditioning control unit and wiring harness from a auto parts supplier, but prior to installing it i noticed that the same switches / connectors appeared to be melted as well. |
