| Description of the problem | There was not a fire but thought there was and 911 was called. I had the oil changed in march and again in july. In septermber there was a clicking noise coming from the engine and i pulled into a drive way and shut off the engine. I asked someone to look at it and when they tried to start the engine smoke came out of the vents and engine would not turn over. Turns out, that the jeep had no oil in it and the engine burned up. The repair for a new engine is $5200. There were no warning lights at all. No "change oil notice", "low oil pressure" light, "overtemp" light, or "check engine" light. Had there been some kind of warning light before i ruined the engine it would not be so costly. |
