Description of the problem	While driving on paved roads at speeds of 35 mph or less in a local park, a loud chime began to sound with no corresponding indicator light. I pulled over and shut the engine off, waited a few seconds, restarted the engine, the chime was not sounding, so i drove home. Once on the highway, the torque converter would not lock up properly and continued to slip for several miles until normal operation resumed. After checking everything once home, it appears that the chime was indicating the transmission was overheating, explaining the malfunction of the torque converter. I have read of others having similar experiences. I need to stress that this over heating occurred under normal operating conditions. Updated 05/24/10*jb
