| Description of the problem | Fire hazard - the front axle vent tube is incorrectly designed. While investigating an oil leak the dealer found that the tube had been overflowing, depositing oil residue on the frame, exhaust pipe and catalytic converter. Burned oil is evident on the exhaust crossover pipe. In my opinion is only a matter of time before a fire starts. The dealer has seen other vehicles with this problem and plans to lengthen the tube and place its' end in a location away from the exhaust. I feel this flaw should merit expedited factory review and redesign. |
