| Description of the problem | I purchased a 2008 jeep wrangler 4x4 4door. Was going to put new brake pads on the vehicle and tried to use the factory supplied jack, the jeep was on pretty level ground but the jack was unable to lift the jeep high enough to take the tire off safely. The jack was in such a high position that the vehicle wouldbe to unstable to continue making this a very dangerous situation waiting for a accent to happen. I now carry two pieces of a 4x4 in case i have a flat that i may need to change. I believe that jeep needs to address this as a safety issue and issue out new jacks that are able to have the clearance needed along with stability. All 4 door jeeps are the same since hey came out as a new model in 2007 so this would be from 2007 to 2011. The jeep come with several tire sizes mine had 20inch tires on them but i had them taken off and changed to a 18inch tire they also come in a 17 and 16 inch but no matter what size is put on at the dealer either stock or as a dealer option the jack system should be the correct size to handle the use and for what the use is for safely. |
