| Description of the problem | The security alarm system and the ignition are tied together in the remote. If the battery in the remote goes dead (how do we know it is the battery and not something in the car), then i can gain access using the key. However, i can't start the car because the alarm is still set and activated (very loud). I can't disarm the security system with the ignition locked out because the battery is dead in the remote. My inquiry to jeep customer service resulted in a suggestion to see if the dealer could help. I consider this to be unsafe as there is no information on how to override the linking of the two systems in an emergency situation. Help! |
