| Description of the problem | Takata inflators:the recall was sent out july 1, 2016. As of oct. 20, the status is "incomplete, parts not available." apparently, on impact, the inflator can spew metal parts, piercing the airbag and causing the ever (un)popular "injury or death" to vehicle occupants. I think 3 1/2 months is waaaay long enough for jeep to come up with a replacement part, or at least offer to disable the airbag. I'd rather take my chances, than have a defective part kill me, thank you very much. |
