Description of the problem	Car is dead. Battery is not the issue appears to be electrical problem originating in the steering column. Mechanic thinks it is the clockspring. He says he has had to repair more than 100 of them. That is just one mechanic. Interesting since jeep has not reported that there have been that many problems. I went online and found more than 400 complaints in just 2 jeep forums. This is obviously a real issue that need to be addressed. It is not just a rhd issue that was recalled. Thinking back it explains the other little things that you learn to live with like wipers going on and off randomly, fog light and tail light issues, airbag warning sounds and light etc.. Ntsb really should take a harder look at this issue. Airbags are a big issue. This is causing fires as well. Steering is going out. Please, please, please look into this more closely. Reopen the investigation. This is happening to 1000s of jeep owners.
