Description of the problemI have a 2007 jeep wrangler 4 door that i purchased new. Approximately one year ago i noticed that around 50mph the vehicle would shake and you almost had to come to a complete stop to get the shake to stop. The shake is not always violent, though it is progressively becoming more violent every time. Once the shaking was so violent that i almost lost control of the vehicle and almost went into the ditch. Yesterday it was so violent that i almost lost control of the vehicle and was very close to running into a dump truck. A friend happened to be driving behind me and said it looked as if the entire jeep was going to shake apart and the wheels looked like they were going to fall off. I have had the jeep looked at and inspected by a mechanic and nothing is wrong with it. As i research this online it seems many jeep owners are experiencing this problem and have labeled it the "death wobble". Chrysler does not seem to be responding to the problem though they appear to be aware according to a local dealership. At this point i am scared to drive my own vehicle and will not let my wife drive it nor do i want to put my child in it. I am lodging this complaint in hopes that this will get investigated and hopefully chrysler will understand that this is an extremely dangerous problem that numerous jeep owners are experiencing. I don't know what needs to be done to fix it. I do believe there needs to be a recall since so many people are having problems before it really causes someone to be injured or die because they loose control of their vehicle. I was really alarmed to see that it is so common people have named it "death wobble".
