Description of the problem	While driving on the expressway, the steering began to wobble and shake violently. This has happened again several times, even after having the tires balanced and an alignment. A couple of times it nearly caused me to go off the road into a ditch. I also experienced this with my 1997 jeep wrangler 2 door 4x4. I caused me to go off the road, into the ditch and through a fence. I became aware that this is a problem with jeeps in general, when i saw a news report on tv about it. I had been told by the jeep dealer/service department it was an alignment problem or tire problem. Now i see this is a manufacturer problem.
