Description of the problem	on sunday , october 10,2010, my husband and 16 3/4 yr old son drove to long island, ny from our home in nj in our 2007 four door jeep , just as he was getting on southern state parkway ,going 60-65, the jeep shook uncontrollably. He thought the wheels were coming off. It took all he had to control the car . He pulled over, jeep looked fine and he drove 50 remainder of way and then home. We went to jeep dealership ( world jeep shrewsbury nj) the following day to get an appointment for it. To our astonishment the service manager told my husband that what he experienced was called the "death shake" or "death wobble" ... We were not able to get an appointment until 10/13/10. I arrived home and googled "jeep death shake " and came upon pages and pages of other consumers describing and complaining of the same scenario. Http://www. Wranglerforum. Html the jeep on wednesday 10/13/10 was repaired: the jeep had to have its "steering dampener removed and replaced due to a leaking wheel shake" world auto group shrewsbury did the repair for a "good will $50 deductible" this was because i contacted chrysler and complained. We are very upset because our son could have been driving that car. He gets his official license in december . Had he been driving ,my husband feels he would not have been able to control the car. He thinks it might have been even difficult for me. This situation is documented all over the internet, the jeep dealership is obviously aware because they told us it was called the death shake. There needs to be a recall!!
