| Description of the problem | Transmission pops violently out of first gear upon acceleration causing the vehicle to lurch and pause/stop suddenly. This has been going on for years with increasing severity and occurrence. The vehicle, when in first gear, is most often in the middle of turning or crossing an intersection. This has been going on for years with increasing severity and occurrence to the point we felt it dangerous so we finally took it to a dealer. Despite it being known issue for this make/model, jeep refused to help fix the problem citing the age of the vehicle and warranty expiration. |
