| Description of the problem | When filling up the gas tank, gas spills out of the tank onto the fender and ground. A significant amount of gas comes out of the tank when the pump nozzle shuts off. This has happened at several different gas pumps and gas stations. Now the check engine light comes on and is related to the gas cap. I suspect this overflow problem may have damaged the vapor canister and is the ultimate cause of the check engine gas cap code. No fire yet, but the potential is a lot greater with this safety issue. |
