Description of the problem	When driving between 40 and 60 mph the steering wheel and front end began to shake violently from right to left, feeling similar to sudden wheel imbalance and as if front wheels might come off when i hit a bump, usually smaller ones like gaps in bridge surfaces or dips in the road. It has been described in blogs and web postings as the "death wobble". To stop this action i have to slow down below 30 mph and sometimes have to stop completely. In heavy traffic this causes dangerous traffic situations since the natural instinct is to apply brakes to maintain control of the vehicle. This does not occur every time i hit a bump, but occurs more frequently as time passes. The dealer has rotated tires, done rear end work, replaced brakes, and replaced the steering damper on several occasions. Replacing the steering damper relieves symptoms for 2-3 months,(up to 2,000 miles) but it starts again, lightly initially, then increasing in intensity and frequency. The same dealer has attempted to service this problem four times over the past two years, but has not come up with a solution. They say they can not "re-create" the condition and can not determine what causes it. They also say they have not received other complaints. Chrysler's customer service workers defer to the dealer. This is a very frightening and dangerous situation when it occurs. The car has not been driven off road and has only original equipment.
