| Description of the problem | While stopped at a light, my jeep's airbag light came on and the warning ding sounded. The light would regularly switch off and on again, every time accompanied by the warning ding when the light turned back on. The light is pretty much always on now, and the warning ding only sounds when i start the vehicle. I had the airbag warning checked out at the local jeep dealership and they have confirmed that the clock spring has failed. The clock spring appears to be a faulty design; chrysler issued a voluntary recall after a previous nhtsa investigation (pe11019) but the same part/design is used from 2007 through 2012 in jeep wranglers. |
