| Description of the problem | Driver and passenger side mirrors have both failed. Metal housing has corroded and failed. Driver side mirror had vibration when driving, when examining the mirror it broke off (in fall of 2016). Passenger side mirror fell off while driving with no warning. Was driving straight on secondary road at about 35 mph, nothing hit the mirror to cause it to fail. Could have hit another car and is a safety hazard.. Failure appears to be corrosion of aluminum structure and possible steel post that holds the mirror. There was a lot of white corrosion or mineral build up on the remaining aluminum. Have owned the vehicle since new, used primarily in massachusetts. |
