| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2008 jeep wrangler 4x4 2-door. The contact stated that after exiting the vehicle he would smell a burning odor. The contact inspected the vehicle and discovered that the wheels had become abnormally hot. The contact sustained burns to three of his fingers from touching the wheels. The vehicle was later taken to the dealer where they advised that the brake calipers overheated and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired for the front passenger side caliper and also the two rear calipers on separate occasions. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 16,619. The current mileage was approximately 19,000. |
