| Description of the problem | I purchase a 2008 jeep wrangler as an off road vehicle. The model has a key recognition key and in this last year has failed twice. Both times we have had to have the vehicle towed to a dealer, replace the wcm, and reprogram the key. The safety issue is: fortunately i was in edmonton both times the wcm failed. If it had been one month earlier i was 50 miles in the bush with an 80 year old diabetic. No cell phone access. There is no manual override for this vehicle therefore you are stranded. It should not be marketed as an off road vehicle until the problem is corrected. |
