Description of the problem2007 jeep wrangler. When leaving a stop, manual transmission violently pops out of 1st gear on acceleration. This seems to happen when acceleration is needed most of all such as when turning left on a busy 4-lane road. Driver is then unable to put car in any gear for several seconds. This will lead to a serious accident eventually by being hit broadside or from the rear if stalled leaving a traffic light or stop sign. Dealer acts like they never heard of this but the web is full of similar reports. There is no fix for this other than a transmission redesign. This has happened about 15 times in the past 3-years. The only thing that seems to help is to hold the shifter firmly in 1st gear when accelerating to prevent it from popping out of gear. I'm going to have to trade the jeep because it is unsafe. Unfortunately the dealer will sell it to some poor unsuspecting person who will probably kill himself.
