| Description of the problem | 2007 jeep wrangler 2-door 1) nearly every time i fill up my gas tank, which holds 15 - 16 gallons per my estimate and fill-up history, it overflows (i have had the car for 13 months, fill up twice a week; 56 weeks x 2 = 112 * 0. 90 = 100 times this has happened). The overflow is not because the tank is over-filled, as it is possible, in my experience, to add an additional gallon after initial overflow. 2) the mechanism that shuts off the pump handle automatically when the fuel tank is becoming full does not stop the pump. This results in excess fuel ending up all over the side of my car, the attached gas cap, and one's shoes and person if one is not expecting the fuel to spit back out. 3) nothing has been done as of yet to correct the failure. |
