| Description of the problem | Knocking noise coming from underneath the vehicle when driven. It would come and go, mechanic checked for the obvious loss parts (muffler, shocks, etc...). The next day when the noise reappeared, the mechanic has driven less than a quarter mile when the engine seized. Mechanic dropped the oil pan and found metal shavings in the oil and the bearing had spun. Chrysler is refusing to take any responsibility to fix this common problem in the 2007 jeep wrangler. The mechanics we have spoken with have related that the new 07 3. 0 liter engine was found to have issues that lead to this spun bearing. Repairs and parts are well over $8000. |
