| Description of the problem | The "clock spring" failed in my 2007 jeep wrangler rubicon. The "clock spring" is the device within the steering wheel hub that the electricity passes through allow in the airbag, horn, and cruise control to work when the steering wheel is being turned. When the clock spring fails these items do not work. The service writer at keffer jeep in charlotte north carolina, 704-532-1050, explained there is more than 500 back ordered and it will be up to a year before the part arrives. This means there are currently more than 500 jeep of all models (all model jeeps use the same clock spring) driving around without functional airbag systems. |
