| Description of the problem | 2018 jeep renegade that is only 8 months old was parked along a street in blacksburg, va at night. The car had been parked for at least 1 hour, maybe a bit longer. It caught fire on 11/9/18 while our son was inside his friend's apartment. Someone noticed it and alerted him. The smoke from the fire was black and had the smell of an electrical fire. Car was towed to a dealer in christiansburg, va where it is now. The dealer is saying the fire probably started from leaves in the undercarriage in the are where the manifold meets the exhaust then traveled to the underhood area.
