| Description of the problem | Jeep renegade with only 40k miles (4k out of warranty) and engine coolant thermostat just stopped working. Entire housing has to be replaced just to fix the one problem. The problem was made known via service light coming on with "service engine" message appearing on dash. The error code was deciphered as "p0128: coolant thermostat (coolant temperature below thermostat regulating temperature). It first appeared while driving on city streets at 40mph, and now appears at all times. This should not happen on a 3. 5 year old vehicle. |
