Description of the problem	My daughter was sitting in line at the bank. She smelled smoke and then saw it coming out of the engine. No lights on her dash came on. After it sat for awhile, we had her turn on the key and all of the dash lights then came on. The car has 35,000 miles on it. We had it towed to southpoint jeep in tulsa (where we purchased it a year ago). The technician said he had 8 others with the exact problem. The technician said this problem is nationwide and that he couldn't tell us when parts would be available, but at this time there was not a recall. He also said he couldn't tell if the overheating damaged the engine. His name is blackjack. He encouraged us to contact customer service-which we have. They established a case for it. The technician said this default, even though we did nothing to cause it, is not covered under the warranty. He did offer us a discount for a rental car. We purchased this car brand new for our daughter to drive to college. We thought jeep was reliable and a reputable company to deal with. She starts classes this monday and we have no vehicle for her.
