| Description of the problem | The vehicle will continuously stall and buck while idling for about one minute after filling up with fuel. This has occasionally happened on the road while the vehicle is in motion immediately after leaving the gas station. In these cases, the driver is put in a very dangerous situations, as the steering wheel locks-up when the car stalls. The car is never "topped-off" but filled until the first pump click. After about a minute, the problem will resolve and the vehicle will run fine until the next fueling. The exact cause is unknown, but the evap system or fuel tank rollover-valve is suspected as the culprit. This is an extremely dangerous problem that many other jeep patriot owners experience and needs to be dealt with. |
