| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2009 jeep patriot 4x4. While attempting to move the vehicle, there was an abnormal noise underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the subframe displayed excessive corrosion. The contact was informed that the subframes of the engine mount, the shock mount, and the entire undercarriage were rusted to the point where the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The contact was informed that the subframe of the vehicle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were contacted or notified of the failure.
