| Description of the problem | I began to hear a humming sound from my rear wheel after doing research jeep patriots are experiencing a tremendous amount of wheel bearing failures at low mileage. The dealer does not have the part in stock and they've superseded the part number 4 times, which tells me that chrysler knows there is an issue and has been unable to re engineer the wheel bearing correctly. Upon inspection the wheel bearing hub it's completely rusted, frozen and unable to extracted from the spindle. Almost every jeep patriot, compass and caliber has had to have the bearings replaced at very low mileage. The amount of corrosion on the hub for such a low mileage vehicle it's unacceptable. A recall needs to be issued for this issue before wheels start falling off causing major accidents . |
