| Description of the problem | Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep patriot 4x4. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, an unknown noise was heard coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic shop for inspection. After inspection, they noticed that the tie rods were loose, resulting in the ball joints also becoming loose. The mechanic repaired the tie rods, but not the ball joints. The dealer was not notified. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 43,000.
