Description of the problem	Tl* the contact owns a 2007 jeep patriot 4x4. While driving through a parking lot, the contact heard a loud popping sound from the rear driver's side of the vehicle. There was no warning indicator illuminated. The contact looked underneath the vehicle and saw a piece of the rear cross member frame that was fractured and detached. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the cross member frame needed to be replaced. The contact called cumberland chrysler dodge jeep ram at 931-263-0321 (located at 1550 interstate dr, cookeville, tn 38501) and was informed that there was no recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall, and referred the contact to nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
