Description of the problem	While going through a carwash this weekend, my car accelerated at some point after the gear was put into neutral, and hit the car in front of me. When the brushes in front of me parted i could see i was going to hit the car in front of me and tried to stop with the brakes but did not stop in time. A couple years ago while slowing towards the end of a lane with my foot on the brake it had also accelerated, causing me to almost hit another vehicle before the acceleration stopped. Periodically, but not often, when i am at a stop and then proceed my car will lurch forward as if i had floored the gas pedal, but i haven't. My husband has been with me and said not to floor it. I just give him the look and say i didn't. Yesterday, however, just hours after the car wash incident, he was driving the jeep when he thought he experienced the same "over-acceleration" after proceeding from a stop. The car-wash attendant yesterday had accused me of not putting my car in neutral but i had pointed to my dash to show him it was in neutral. He didn't believe me but then looked at their video which was inconclusive. But something made him do a google search where he came across sudden unexpected acceleration in jeep grand cherokees, at which point he apologized for basically accusing me of lying.
