Description of the problem	I keep getting an error stating service shifter. I took it to a dealership to run diagnostic on it today and they state the whole shifter and knob need to be replaced and i was told this is a common problem for jeep grand cherokees but nothing has been done bout it and they charge $1,100 to fix this problem. I cant afford this now so i paid for diagnostic bill. Everytime i start the jeep or put it in park i get this service shifter error message and sometimes while driving and the lights on the shifter do not work so i cant tell what position i am currently in.
