| Description of the problem | 2014 grand cherokee laredo with <57k miles. After taking it in to have recalls done and fluids checked/oil change, car was having steering issues at slow speeds (think pulling in/out of parking spots). Brought it into the the same dealership and they said that it needed a new gear assembly (leak) as well as *possibly* a new ps pump, but they wouldn't know for sure until we brought it back in. I was told by another mechanic that it will, in fact need both done... For $3k. This is probably my 12th jeep and i've never had an issue like this. I'm so disappointed that this seems to be a "known issue", yet jeep hasn't done anything about it. I should also mention that this grand cherokee has never been off road, and we live in suburban chicago... Hardly any hills or mountains here. |
