Description of the problem	While accelerating onto curve of freeway entrance ramp, felt a slight jerk or pop on the steering wheel then lost all control of steering wheel. Steering wheel did not control car, so i veered straight off ramp and into grass/plant area. I did take a video showing how the steering wheel was spinning freely around in circles. Very fortunate this did not occur 30 seconds later when i would have been on the freeway and losing control of steering. I had the car towed to the dealership and after inspection, was told that the lower steering column shaft broke loose from upper shaft, causing steering wheel to spin freely. When shaft broke loose it also caused damage to the clockspring. The car was repaired by the dealership, however based on the seriousness of this defect and potentially fatal results, wanted to make sure this was communicated as the car is only 14 months old with only 18,200 miles on it....
