| Description of the problem | While pulling out onto a busy thoroughfare (cesar chavez st. In san francisco, ca) in my 2014 jeep grand cherokee overland on 3/31/16, my collision warning system went off, then the vehicle braked hard on its own via the brake assist system, engaging the anti-lock brake system, and bringing me to a stop in the middle of this busy road. However there was nothing/no one in front of me. This could very well have caused me to be t-boned or rear-ended with my 8 month old baby in the car. This was extremely scary and unexceptable! After describing the issue to my mother, she sent me an article from the wall street journal regarding this issue on 2014 jeep grand cherokees. Clearly this is a more widespread issue than just a fluke affecting my vehicle. |
