Description of the problem	In accordance with a safety recall notice i received (p14/nhtsa 14v-154), i contacted my jeep dealer, carl burger dodge chrysler jeep ram world, la mesa, ca, to schedule an appointment to have my brake booster evaluated and replaced. The service department representative confirmed over the phone that my vehicle was affected by the recall and that my vehicle's brake booster would need to be replaced. She told me that my name would be added to a waiting list, and that i would be notified when the dealership had received the replacement part. I asked her to estimate the waiting time period. She informed me (1) that there were more than 260 customers ahead of me on this waiting list, (2) that the dealership had only received 45 parts so far, and (3) that the dealership was receiving new parts at a rate of only five per week. By my rough calculations, this means that i (and other customers) could expect to wait 43+ weeks (viz., nearly one year) before receiving the replacement part. Given the grave risks associated with untimely replacement of the brake booster, as expressed in the recall notice, i find this timeframe to be entirely unacceptable and unreasonable. I urge the nhtsa to look into this matter further. Thank you for your time and consideration.
