| Description of the problem | While in park, the driver side active headrest deployed in my 2014 jeep grand cherokee. My vehicle was not in a collision, nor has it been in the past. The vehicle computer shows no evidence of a collision or cause for deployment of the active headrest. The vehicle was at approximately 77,000 miles when this occurred. I was unable to reset the active headrest, and the local dealership was unable to do so as well, indicating it needed replaced. Upon investigation online, and inspection of the headrest, i found that there were broken plastic pieces in the back part of the headrest that appeared to be the cause of the failed active headrest. It appears evident to me that a defective part of plastic broke and made the headrest deploy. |
