Description of the problem	We were driving down the road and the car went into neutral. We were stuck on the middle of the road while we tried to get it to go back into drive. If this would have happened when we were turning out in front of a car or on a bridge it would have been really bad and more than likely caused a bad wreck. Everywhere i read says these cars a now for the shifter problem but doesn't appear to have a recall for my exact vin. We had to stop driving the car because we are scared it is going to get us in a wreck. The jeep dealer near us said that we need a new electronic shifter. It is on back order until early february. What can we do to get this replaced free of charge because this is a major safety issue and could cause horrible wrecks. We were driving down the road getting ready to turn onto and i70 on ramp when the car just went to neutral and stopped. The car was stationary for maybe a couple of minutes while we tried to get it back in gear and drive straight home. We got lucky we did t get hit by a semi truck because it is a very busy area because there are 2 truck stops that drive through there.
