Description of the problem	Tl* the contact's wife owns a 2014 jeep grand cherokee. The contact stated that there was a software patch update that was required for the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to dutchess chrysler jeep dodge (2285 south rd, poughkeepsie, ny 12601, (845) 462-7700) and the update was performed. Upon the update being performed, the vehicle would not accelerate over 30 mph without warning. The contact also stated that the vehicle would stall at various speeds without warning. Furthermore, the vehicle jerked while driving various speeds and the check engine warning indicator later illuminated. When the check engine indicator illuminated, all the internal electric units, such as the phone charger, 3g wi-fi, voice control system unit, and other electrical units failed to operate. The contact took the vehicle to healey chrysler dodge jeep ram (557 ny-52, beacon, ny 12508, (845) 831-1148) where they replaced a sensor under warranty. The check engine indicator initially turned off after the sensor was replaced; however, the failure recurred soon after the remedy was performed. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and stated that they were still awaiting another software update to correct the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
