The contact stated that the manual for the vehicle stated that the engine should shut off when the key fob was removed from the vehicle. The contact parked the vehicle in a residential garage overnight and the following day, he found that the vehicle was still powered on. The vehicle was taken to the dealer because the failure caused the catalytic converter and fuel pump to fail. The engine became extremely hot and remained on even after there was no more fuel in the vehicle. The contact spoke with the manufacturer and was told that they would not assist due to user error.
