| Description of the problem | The oil filter housing is made of plastic and attached to the motor. High failure rate as evidenced by the 40,000 part backorder status of the part. Causes moderate to severe oil leak when cracked, and engine failure if it breaks completely. Leaves an oily mess wherever it is parked. Oil will blow back onto other vehicles and vehicle will be stall and be stranded when motor locks up due to no oil. $600+ repair costs. Affects some dodge, jeep, and chrysler vehicles. Unable to repair stalled vehicles because part is unavailable. Est wait time is over a month. Part number is 68105583af. There is no excuse for the company not to take responsibility for putting a plastic connector inside an engine housing. It |
