| Description of the problem | The most recent recall to correct engine programming to meet emissions has had a severe impact on engine and vehicle performance. There is a several second delay in acceleration from when the the accelerator pedal is pressed to when the vehicle responds and begins to move, that did not exist prior to recall repairs. This delay is most noticeable from a standing start. The delay in acceleration is a safety concern because when the driver makes a decision to accelerate and the vehicle does not respond accidents could occur. |
