Description of the problem	[xxx] jeep grand cherokee laredo, [xxx] jeep grand cherokee laredo has formed a crack in the oil filter adapter. Because of the location, design, and material, the part is prone to cracking and leaking (typically spurred by an oil change when the cap is screwed back onto the housing). This crack creates a slow leak of oil into the engine housing and below the vehicle. This oil leak can continue without obvious warning and if not corrected, could result in severe engine damage with the potential of malfunctioning while in use therefore posing a safety threat to the driver, passengers and other drivers. I have alerted jeep to the issue and i will note that i have spoke to several mechanics who have replaced several of these parts in this vehicle. It is a manufacturing design flaw and costing loyal customers and posing a danger on the roads. I have reported this information to jeep (or whomever they contract customer service to) and they documented my information but refused to correct the situation for myself (and others in the future) and told me to hold onto my repair information in case a recall takes place in the future. Jeep should take accountability for this ever growing issue and recall this part immediately. Please help me in ensuring they do the right thing for their customers and for the general public.
