Description of the problem	Call stalled due to the failure of the alternator, which was subject to recall. The dealership refused to schedule an appointment, so i just dropped my car off at the dealership per chrysler corp. The dealership replaced the defective alternator and found that the battery needed to be replaced at a charge of 350 dollars. I informed the dealership that the message center on the car indicated that the car was entering "batter saver mode" as it shutdown. The manual for the vehicle indicates that the vehicle enters this mode when the battery is not being charged, the primary function of the alternator. I requested that the dealership replace the battery as its depletion was due to a faulty alternator, they declined. They stated that although the alternator was faulty it did not do any damage to the battery.
