| Description of the problem | Our jeep's shifter occasionally refuses to go into "park" after coming to a complete stop and will not go into park even after opening the driver door which is supposed to automatically happen based on the fix in safety recall s27/nhtsa 16v-240. The jeep dealership told me there is a short in the shifter but the repair wouldn't be covered because the safety recall was only for a "software" issue not a "mechanical" issue with the shifter. Either way, it is a safety hazard that we can not safely park our vehicle and we are experiencing something that should have been fixed in the mentioned safety recall, but wasn't. |
