Description of the problem	Vehicle was in motion on a highway when "service shifter" warning came on. Lights on shifter go on and off randomly while parked and in motion on highways, city streets. Shifter gets stuck between gears, shifter light reading gear reads differently than dash panel gear, ex. Shifter is put in drive (d) and dashboard reads neutral (n). There are delays in shifting between gears and beeping sound comes on. When putting vehicle into park and it will not read it, creating a stall in the process, and having to move shifter in different gears before it will start to read gears again. Vehicle has thrusted forward after putting into park while a beeping noise is going off. Shifter has not wanted to go into park, or reverse and instead goes into neutral. When shifter has been put into park the engine has made an acceleration noise. Shifter has been erratic and non-consistent, creating fearful and unsafe operating issues.
