Description of the problem	While driving the jeep, the alternator shorted and stalled the car. All power was lost to the engine steering and lights just as i was crossing a very busy intersection. I was able to roll through the intersection where the car died in the middle of the road. Alternator began to smoke heavily. Complicating matters, the car has a fully electronic shifting mechanism preventing me from putting the car in neutral and pushing it off the road. It sat in the middle of a road until a tow truck arrived.
