| Description of the problem | Fca and nhtsa have issued a recall notice that explains that the alternator may fail, resulting in stalling or possibly fire. It has been said that replacement of the alternator is necessary in affected vehicles. This won't take place until 2018 because of parts availability. This is totally unacceptable. The tens, or possibly hundreds of thousands of these vehicles will pose an enormous safety risk for occupants of these vehicles, and other vehicles sharing the road with them. This recall repair needs to be expedited in a much more timely manner. Fca needs to be made aware of the risks their customers are being exposed to because of the delay in making this repair. I received notice from fca on 7-14-2017, and nhtsa on 10-3-2017. |
