| Description of the problem | I was coming to a gradual stop at a traffic light on a local road when the active head restraint seemingly deployed. I was not in a collision and there was no reason for it to deploy. Upon examining the mechanism it was not triggered, rather it failed because the plastic clips that held onto the latch had broken off internally causing the headrest to hit me violently in the back of the head. This could have been far worse had i not been almost at a complete stop. |
