Description of the problemWhile i was wiping down the driver side active-headrest it deployed on it's own as if the vehicle was in an accident. The car was off and parked on my driveway with the transmission in park, i was cleaning the inside of the car when it happened. The part in question is the driver side active head-rest. I was told by the technician at the dealership that he had seen 5 of these and it happened because the plastic clip that holds the headrest in place had deteriorated and broke. I was told by the dealership that there are no recalls for this and to call fca to file a claim to see if they would cover the cost of the repair which i did. Fca told me if i fixed it before they look at it they won't pay for the repair. Fca informed me that someone would call me to set up a time and location to look at my car in 2 to 4 weeks. In the meantime they said to drive it as is with no concern for my safety. This is obviously a serious safety issue and if it had happened while i was driving someone could have been killed.
